How scoring works
Shell Forecast scores shelling windows from three signals shellers already watch: low tide, onshore wind after weather moves through, and which way the beach faces the water. Tide timing comes from NOAA; wind and forecast context from the National Weather Service.
Low tide opens the wrack line where shells collect. Onshore wind after a front or blow can stack fresh shells. Beach facing decides which stretch catches the wash-up — the same wind that loads one beach can miss another nearby.
